L. J. Lee & T. J. Lilliman,
founders of the Canadian Bushhawks Liaison Squadron, near Geneseo, New York, 1992 |
THE CANADIAN
CONNECTION:
A Canadian Artillery Sergeant, Charles Simpson, was on exchange with
the U. S. Army in Korea when hostilities erupted there in 1950. Charlie flew L-16s in combat for several
months.
He was shot down in one late in the year, and was transported back home
to recuperate.
Charlie now lives in Gravenhurst, Ontario.
He is an energetic volunteer each
year at the Muskoka Airshow.
We are proud to call him our friend.
