The
People
While the Canadian Bushhawks Liaison Squadron
counts members worldwide, the Squadron is known primarily for its
founders: Lauren (L. J.) Lee and T. J.
Lilliman.
The Squadron was founded in 1991 by this close-knit pair of aviation
enthusiasts on an appropriately tiny pea-patch airstrip in Southwestern
Ontario.
L.
J. and T. J. are an ordinary couple with an extraordinary passion for aviation
and for each other!

Flying
partners for several years, we married at an airshow in 1994 complete with a
flypast of five T-6 Harvards from the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association
that drowned out our wedding vows!
Our home base, Bushhawk Creek, is a 50-acre farm on the north
shore of Lake Erie, with a timber-frame hangar, a tidy 1860s Ontario cottage,
and a 3,600 x 100 grass airstrip just outside our kitchen door.
Each September we welcome our friends and colleagues for a
weekend-long barbecue, The Autumn Gathering of Hawks, at the Creek. In 2001, our attendance was a record 176
aircraft over the two days.
